I have a 1999 Dodge Dakota SLT 2WD. I have seen this topic covered in previous posts over the years but have never seen a definitive answer. My question is this: are the upper control arms for the 1999 2WD and 4WD drive the same? I have seen some saying yes and some saying definitely so. I tend to I believe they are for no other reason than you cannot find the upper control arm for 2WD anywhere. I have checked numerous parts websites, called company tech reps and go to auto parts and everyone says they do not carry upper control arms for the 2WD. Why would nobody carry the 2WD part but everyone has multiple 4WD. And before people weigh in why don't I just replace the bushings or the ball joint, etc. etc. I have my reasons and don't want to get into that discussion. All I want to know is whether someone has actually replace the upper control arms on a 1999 2WD Dakota SLT and where did they get the parts. Thank you.

Not much help but uppers should be same same no problem, lowers are a different monster but take it with a grain of short curlies farked if I know

I dont know for sure but i think ebay is selling upper control arms for rwd dakota 1999

MOOG makes the upper control arm for 4x4 but i dont know if it will fit for sure

Did you ever get anywhere on this situation? I am in the same predicament... can't find uppers for my 99 2x. Love these vehicles! I have a 99 2x and a 99 4x, but the market for suspension parts is scarce. Let me know if you found a source for the upper control arms please. Thanks

Just an fyi, the 2wd and 4wd are different upper control arms, they are not interchangeable. 2wd bolts are 8” apart from the center of the bolts, whereas the 4wd ones are 6” from the center of the bolts. Anyone looking for upper control arms for a lifted 2wd, as far as I know, needs to look up the doetsch upper control arm, fits up to 3”. Or have someone fabricate one specially. That’s all I know on this, but wanted to throw my two cents cause it caused me a headache.
