I have an option to get a 1995 dodge ram van 3.9 v6 engine that has 92000 miles on it for my 2000 dakota. My dakota also has the 3.9 engine as well. My question is, will this engine fit without any modifications by swapping my existing parts from my old engine on to it? I have read that in 97 there was a change but i cant seem to find if i can just swap the parts that changed from my 2000 engine. Any help would be appreciated.

Change was in 1996; they eliminated EGR.

Good news is, you can fix that by keeping the 2000 manifolds.

Even better, that's a PERFECT time to do the plenum gasket!

You'll need the engine wiring harness out of the '95 also. A lot of the electrical connector plugs are different between the '95 and '00.
