so on out 05 durango by the passenger floor board the exhaust pipe pushes into another pipe with a clamp...everytime u hit a big bump or floor it and turn the pipe pops out of the other one.

the clamp is all rusty. do i cut it off and replace it or what?

What kind of clamp is it? One of those crimp type u-clamps?

If the pipes are still in good shape, I would just bring it to a shop and have it welded. You could also try a lap-joint band clamp if the first few inches of the big pipe aren't crimped too bad.

its like a strap more then a clamp. it has a lip on each end with a nut and bot but its all rusted to shit(truck has 150k miles)

I agree with vortmax, I'd take it to a good muffler shop and have it welded up. Shouldn't cost too much or take too much time. I have no idea what type of strap thingy is on your truck. I've only seen U clamps or welds used on exhausts. But either way, if the connection is failing, then its time to replace the clamp or have it welded. Good luck...

For me weld=free, clamp=money.
