While it may bolt in the electronics is totally different. The trans from a 5.9 is a totally different animal then what is behind a 4.7 or a 5.7 so the electronics will not work. But you could use one from a 5.2 of about the same vintage. But remember that the 5.9 is externally balanced so you must use a converter for a 5.9 that will fit whatever trans you use

Do u have any recommendations I could use plz??
Didn't I just tell you? anything from behind a 4.7 or 5.7 will not work because of the electrical differences. A trans from a 5.9, 5.2 should work, and you want to risk it being too light one from a 3.9 would probably fit in too, but I would not recommend it and you most likely will not find a 5.9 converter for that. But you have to have a torque converter for a 5.9 or it will vibrate your teeth out. and for sure not before 1996, because they were not computer controlled.

And don't use the converter from the junk trans, there maybe metal filing in it from the old trans. I should of asked what is not working on the old trans, if it is just not shifting right it may not be the trans at all, could be wiring or computer or speed sensors.
if your tach or speedometer are not working then is not a transmission problem, that would be speed sensors or electrical. then get it scanned before you pull it out. it may not have to come out. if it is electrical replacing the trans is not going to fix it.

I think you're incorrect on this, the 45RFE was only ever used on the 4.7/5.7 and the 46RE on the 3.9/5.9. AFAIK even the bell housings have different bolt patterns. I know for sure their converters are not interchangable.

If you read what I said, I never mentioned a transmission model just the engines and I said the trans from a 4.7 and 5.7 would not work mainly because of the electronics. The only transmissions I mentioned were for the 5.2 and the 5.9, the 5.2 may have a 42re which would work but very weak. I have seen both transmissions out I thought that the bolt pattern looked close but never measured them because I knew the electronics would not work and assumed the torque converters would not interchange either. I did just check and the bellhousing bolt pattern is the same, but I also heard the the ignition pick up is in a different spot so they will not work
Sorry but I have been around transmissions to long to not know where they will and won't fit. I started rebuilding transmissions at a Chrysler dealership in the mid 70's, Sure I quit doing them for a living in the late 90's but I still hang around the shop of the guy that was working for me when I got out of it. So I am pretty well up to date on most of this.
