Hello all. I have an 02 Dakota with the 4.7 and it’s 2wd with 300k on the clock. About a year ago had to replace the transmission as it was slipping very bad. Fast forward to a couple months ago and the truck would intermittently stop showing a ring around P and N but would light up on every other gear during which it would not even crank but it would randomly come back. Which leads me to today. I can’t get it to do anything anymore and now it says no bus. No cranking, no gauges, no fuel pump. I’ve checked my grounds and I’ve got 4.87v at my TPS so it doesn’t seem to be shorted unless it has to be exactly 5v? I even checked with all the sensors unplugged. I’ve checked all fuses and I don’t seem to see any broken wires or corrosion anywhere. I’m about to try buying a PCM but I figured I’d get second opinions first before I go throwing money at it. If I jump the starter relay it will crank but it won’t start. Any help would be very appreciated.

Reconnect all disconnected wires, then disconnect both battery cables, clamp both +& - together, turn the head lights on, turn the ignition switch to the start position 2or 3 times and leave it overnight. This will reset the computer to how is was when it left the factory, called a hard reset. 2000 Dakota Quad 4.7 auto 364k original motor & trans. never been apart. Please let us know IF this cures your problem and the cost is a few minuets of your time.
