Hi im new here and i have an 01 dakota 3.9 4x4 its lifted and had 31s on it but when driven for a bit i have a bad grinding noise coming from the rear or mid rear only when making slow turns can someone please help with suggestions dont know if its my rear end or universals ??

Rear end is letting go. Soon your pinion will slip on the ring gear and lock up. Try and adjust the mesh now

I changed the fluid and put the addative in it and the noise went away for now but how do I do that ????

When you changed the fluid, did you remove the cover or use a suction gun
to remove the fluid? If you removed the cover, was there any signs of metal
or a metalic color? If so it could be to late.

Yeah there was a tiny little peice and me and the so called mechanic looked it all over and everything seems 100 percent better . but its an 01 and whoever had it before me never changed a damn thing. 20 year old truck with original plug wires lol and he put regular tranny fluid instead of the at4 probably will be the next thing I have to replace
