INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
All thermostats should be boiled before installation.  Put the thermostat in a pot of water and crank up the heat - use a thermometer to make sure the valve opens at the proper temperature.

Drain approximately one quart of fluid from the radiator through the radiator cap (or drain the whole thing through the valve at the bottom).  The thermostat is located on top of the engine where the large radiator hose and manifold meet.  Click here to see a picture of where to look.  Remove the two screws flanking this hose, and lift up and away from the manifold.  Be careful removing/installing the thermostat to prevent damage to the manifold.  Clean away the old thermostat gasket and install a new gasket.  Install the new thermostat and bolt it all back up.  Top off the vehicle with water/coolant mix through the radiator cap, and then start the engine.  Warm up the vehicle until the thermostat opens and coolant begins circulating through the engine.  Continue to top off the coolant system to ensure all air pockets are eliminated.  Close radiator cap.

PRODUCT INFORMATION:

Stant SuperStat® premium thermostats use a patented v-notch, non-linear design valve to stabilize engine temperatures and allow the engine to warm up faster. This feature reduces overcooling when the thermostat opens, and overheating when the thermostat quickly closes with the rush of cold coolant, thus reducing thermostat cycling. The advantages of a quicker warm up are prolonged engine life and improved fuel economy and emissions. The heavy gauge stainless steel construction and spring offer longer life and maximum performance.
