My New Black Mamba CAI, Pics and Vids
Here is my new "black Mamba" CAI I built last weekend. While I was shopping in the Home Depot, I spotted in the electrical section 3inch pre-bent pvc conduit pipe that would make a awesome intake pipe for my Dango. I used a Spectra CAI filter from Pep Boys a small section of PVC pipe, two 3inch rubber pipe connectors (Home Depot), primer, flat black paint, and some high gloss clear coat. Here are some videos after I installed my custom CAI:

Looks pretty damn good. Question, why did you use the white piece of PVC pipe??? Was that just to extend it for the filter to be in that specific location for fitment???

Filter $40+, Prebent PVC $7.00, two rubber 3inch couplers $7.00 each, piece of 3inch pvc pipe free spare piece in garage. Maybe $80.00 the most with paint and supplies. The reason I used the white pvc is for a connector piece, something to clamp to. Did you all check out the videos?

You would think so. Wouldn't you? Maybe he needed it to be longer so it will tuck down in there.

That is true, I didn't really think about that. Thanx for the tip, I can always count on my Mopar Brothers to keep me in line.

Well I took you all's advice and hooked the filter directly to the tube, but I repainted it a dark cherry red this time, unforntunatly the insulation blanket dinked up the paint a little, minor touch up later or a cool sticker.

It looks much better now, please don't put another flowmaster sticker on it though.

Nah, I won't do that again, not a Flowmaster at least.

Looks good. Have a idea and a question. What did you do with the big azz hose that goes to the filter box? Why didn't you remove the bottom of the air filter box, put a elbow on the end and extend the filter down further from the engine heat.
