Unhappy Brake Lights Not Working

'01 Dakota 4X4 4.7L
Just took it in to get inspected and the brake lights aren't working. I've checked the fuses, relay, etc. and nothing is amiss. Anyone had this problem?

Did you check the bulbs? Does this include the third brake light also?

Sounds like you may need to replace the brake switch on the backside of the brake pedal.

nooooo! check autozone first!

Someday, someone may kill you with your weapon. But they're going to have to beat you with it because it should be empty.

I'm looking for 4-wheel abs parts, and a K&N round filter kit for a Dakota. PM me if you know where I can get them.

Bought the $25 brake switch, installed per instructions, brake lights still don't work.

The turn signals and emergency lights blink, but the brake lights get no action. Any other ideas?

There is a guy who comes into my shop every few weeks and mentioned that he was having this problem with his dak. I hadn't noticed anything until I went to get it inspected.

Here's 3 fuses you need to check.

1- #4 fuse in the fuse panel on the drivers side of the dash
2- #5 fuse in the fuse panel (PDC) under the hood
3- Fuse 'T' in the fuse panel (PDC) under the hood

Let us know what you find.

Pulled all the fuses under the hood. Found that "TRLR 2" was burned out. Replaced, but still no brake lights.

I can't find the listing for the numbers of the fuses under the hood (which is why I pulled them all).

I pulled TRLR 1 and nothing was wrong with it. I'll take pictures and post...
