Fan shroud removal

Is there anyway short of removing the fan to get the shroud out? I have a 97 and the overflow is not attached, so could I destroy the fan shroud and not have any adverse effects?

The fan shroud should be a 2 peace shroud, there should be bolts on the left and right side on the shorud aboot midway up on them that you need to take out,

Not on mine , it's one single piece, 4 bolts.

Well poop........Gotta take the fan off, its not that difficult, just use a long prybar and a hammer to get the fan off, first you gotta put the end of the prybar on the fan nut on the edge of the nut (on the left side of the nut because you wanna take it off) and hit the other end of the prybar with the hammer a coupla HARD times and the fan should spin right off
