Question Round air filter on 2001 R/T?

Does anyone know if there is a round air filter available to top the TB for a 2001 5.9? I know they have one available for the shaker hoods, but I just have the stock hood. Wondering if there is an adapter to fit the TB, if it will fit under the stock hood, and if there may be any benefits to having the element on top of the TB instead of the long intake tube? Facts, opinion, and suggestions appreciated.

you can get a K&N or Mopar unit.....they will fit under the hood just barely and will rub a slight bit on the front of the cleaner

you will see a power gain with this but most guys will argue that it will hurt performance sucking all that hot air thats trapped under the stock hood

from my own experience i ran the mopar 14 x 3 round cleaner under my stock hood for six months and noticed a nice improvement over the stock air hat

i say go for it :biggthump

I have a 3.9. would the same air filter and base fit as for the v8s? I have a v8 throttle body but dont know if the engine sits farther back than a v8 or not.

i had a K&N 14x4 round filter and it DEF will NOT work with a V6 and i dont think it will work with a V8 unless ur running the SRT-10 or cowl hoods ud have to get the 14x3 to use with the stock hood

u can fit a 10 inch round on a 3.9. i use one of the edelbrock ones. i like it, i think it works better than the home made air intake i had on it b4. blue streak youre in allentown? ive never seen your truck around. im in bethlehem, mines a black CC with a 3 inch body lift and a silver butt stripe with a rams head decal in it.

I think that's the one I'm gonna use for my ram air.....I called up my local dealership and looked up the part (the part number you posed is apparently for the US only) He found it but told me that it's "not in service anymore" WTF?? I found it no prob on trademotion.com! I hate my dealership!!! Half the shit I try to order is "unavailable" and the other half it more than 2x the price any of you guy payed!! It should be a little more with the exchange rate but some things are rediculous! Sorry bout the rant...I just got off the phone with them....
