How to fix headlight problem

Thought this might be helpful to anyone who might have the same problem as I did and buy parts for nothing. In my 97 Dakota Sport I only use fog lights when driving but at one point I put my low beams on and realized they werent working, yet my high beams worked. I bought new bulbs, a new switch, checked fuses, to no avail. After trolling through tons of web pages I found the answer and I thought I should pass it along. On the Dakotas and Durango with tilt wheel, when you tilt the wheel down to the last two clicks or so and down, the wire into the harness on the column pops out. When I took apart the plastic covers, it was dead noticable as the last wire on the end, after simply wire nutting an extension piece in the problem was solved. Hope this helps someone and RIP Dakota line, may the Dakota's on the road today ride on forever especially mine.

Dodge 'till the day I die...
