2006 Durango 5.7L Tune Up??

Hello everyone,
I have an 06 rango with the 5.7l hemi, just hit 42,000 miles. While in for my usual oil change & tire rotation at a local shop, they said I was overdue for a tune up. They said dodge recomends a tune up every 30,000 miles, but they wouldn't tell me what a "tune up" included. Is it just 16 plugs?? LOL If so is it something I can do, & does it really need to be done every 30,000??

Yeah, it does. The newer engines are running at higher compression ratio's and are programmed for lean burn, which is hard on spark plugs.
Yes, you will need new plugs, but that is up to you what plugs to use. Make sure to have dielectric grease and antiseize on hand when you do it yourself.
That's pretty much all you need for a tune-up on the HEMI, unless you want to get MSD's coil packs but IDK if you want to spend $485 for the set.

Something stinks and it ain't me.
327K+ miles, mostly all original factory parts, and 15 yrs. of reliable service.....you are missed.

I don't. Most say to go with the stock Champion copper cores but I have had luck with the Autolite double platinums on my 94 Dak.
Stay away from the Bosch+ series spark plugs. Some have not had good results with these plugs.

Thanks for the heads up on the Bosch, I was thinking about those E3 diamond plugs. Rather spend the money on parts not labor
