Thumbs up Rear end clunk 2000 Durango

The Durango has a clunking noise sometimes between shifts (automatic). Especially noticible at slower speeds when letting off of the accellerator. Appears to be in or at the rear end. Any ideas?? It's possibly u joints i know, has any one had similar noises and it not be in the u joints?

Really bothers me. My stroker Z28 had similar noise with other symptoms. Thought it was u joints, it locked up at 30mph on a city street. I was lucky I was cruzin.

Wound up shearing off the bolt that held the cross pin. had to replace the rear end.

The Durango is currenly in the paint booth, new Suncoast Creations Ram Air hood, rear spoiler and complete re paint.

Can't wait to get it home and solve the rear end problem.

Did you check to see if your spare tire is tight under the back end? Mine was doing that till I found the spare was loose. Its worth a check!!

Once it returns, I will check that first. Could be a possibility.

Recently replaced the 15" rims with 16" rims, although, it was making the noice prior to the swap.

Thanks
