Another Durango seats in a Dakota thread

I picked up some durango leather seats for the CC. The seat bolts don't line up, as I have found. Even though I've read many times they just "bolt in".

I will probably swap my old passenger side brackets to the new seat, but what about the driver side. It is now a power seat. Have you guys been drilling a new hole for the rear of the brackets or do you make a new bracket that goes from the original holes to the durango bracket?

Kinda like this:

this is a pic of concorde seats in a neon, but the bracket design could apply

The Front seat bracket bolts line up and bolt in but the rear of the brackets don't line up. Has anyone ran into this before and what have you guys done? Drilled new holes or make a bracket?

The truck is a 2001 and the donor I was told was an 03.

Exact same problem here when I tried putting rango seats from my wrecked 99 into the 99 CC Dak. Still trying to figure a solution.

make the brackets...the truck was designed to have the seats bolt in that location, therefore there have been extra supports welded in there to hold in case of an accident. if you drill new holes you could be drilling through a spot weld for that support as weakening that area. you may not care but the next person to own it may, or the person you hit after flying through the windshield. be safe and design a sturdy bracket, not just cutting off the tabs from one track and welding to another....if it doesnt look good it probably isn't safe

Garage
You could take a small flat bar and drill 2 holes in it. 1 to line up with the bracket and one to line up with the hole in the floor.

But, being a metal fabricator.... i would slice between the rails and the bolt down tabs, bolt the tabs to the floor, tack it place, remove it form the truck, weld it up and paint it.

If you weld it on two oposing sides it will be just as strong and safe as those factory plug welds.

What I would do is grind the rivets off the rear original dakota rails and the new rango rails. The use some strong bolts and take the dakota rear end pieces and bolt to the rear of the durango rails. Problem solved.

Also as many people who say durango seats bolt right in do not know what they are talking about. A club cab and RC seats are different from durango seats.

I can tell you that in my 02 Dakota quad, I did just bolt in Durango seats from the same model year, a nice upgrade. I was wondering if seats from a later generation Durango would bolt in to my Dak, but I'm guessing not-
