Custom HiPoTek Big Bore 4.7 Throttle Bodies

I am machining 4.7 throttle bodies that provide a true and accurate bore for increased flow and performance. The 65mm throttle body, which is really ~ 61mm in stock form, can be machined from 65mm-68.5mm, and the 68mm throttle body, which is really ~64mm in stock form, can be machined from 68mm-71mm, depending upon your desires and modifications.

The bore is dimensionally accurate and smooth, is radiused at the top, the throttle shafts are machined on both sides for increased flow and strength, and to prevent flexing or possible breakage while under boost applications, they utilize low profile stainless steel button head throttle plate screws, the throttle plate is custom machined (not stamped or a reshaped carburetor plate) from T6061 aluminum, with the correct angle at the margins, and are set with the correct clearance in relation to the desired bore diameter, with the correct elliptical shape to perfectly fit the modified OEM throttle body. I can also machine a custom size TB upon special request.

Ship me your throttle body and I can modify it for the following prices:

65mm Throttle Body
[65mm-67mm] $125 + $10 shipping.
[>67mm] $135 + $10 shipping

68mm Throttle Body
[68mm-70mm] $125 + $10 shipping
[> 70mm] $135 + $10 shipping

Either PM me or send me an email at Richard@hi-potek.com if you are interested.

Thanks, Richard

Damn you the new dwight? That was quick. Looks good, perhaps not as shiny as dwights but still pretty good. Is it me or is the stock size shrinking. I thought a 65 was a 63 and a 68 a 65. Any more pics. And how much for the 71mm?

LOL. Actually I've been working on this for a while. I spent a lot of time on R&D...machining fixtures...etc. I've measured the stock inside diameter of the bore with telescoping gauges and a large micrometer. The stepdown is basically 4mm, not 3mm. The 65mm has a step-down to 61mm and the 68mm has a step-down to 64mm. The 71mm is $135 + $10 shipping with you supplying the core.

No. 71mm is really the max. The bore wall would be tin foil if you didn't punch through it.

Sounds good. I've got one '03 core I got off Ebay but it was $50 shipped to me. They aren't cheap. Try to find one cheaper but I have this one if you want to buy it. This is why I haven't stocked up on cores.

The 71mm TB pictured is the one installed on my truck.

Richard is a class act, even as someone who also ports TBs on the side , I can say that these TBs are awesome.

My review of the 71mm TB for the 4.7 can be found here http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/...d.php?t=115427

So it'd be $50 on top of the 125$?

Hey thanks for the good words Ryan! I'm glad you like it and it was a pleasure machining it for you.

For a 68mm-70mm it would be $125 + $50 that I paid for the core + $10 for me to ship the finished product to you (in the lower 48 states). Or if you ship me a core, it is $125 + $10 shipping.

Ok My setup so far is a 2002 4.7 4wd MT Stock. 100K miles
3" Magnaflow CB exhaust is going in Sunday. CAI? cant decide between K&N or Airaid Kits...both price around the same..any opinions?
My TB question is...will a modified TB enhance pwr and milage for my Truck with the just the exh and cai or is this just for Worked up Motors. also what is the ideal bore?..I assume mine is a factory 65mm for my year truck . Appreciate any advise.
Richard u can pm me if you like . Im interested in doing this if it will help me.

Hey Intis,

Here's your 68.5mm TB. It's on it's way.
