reverse light problem
I changed the bulbs and they still don't work what else can i check( and how) to alieviate my problem

maybe check for a blown fuse or something.

Blown fuse or disconnected wire maybe cut underneath the truck.

it's not the fuse , someone eas telling me check where the reverse lights go into the tranny or something like that

oh yeah, notorious problem. I had it in my dak sport. Its a busted switch in your tranny. I just had the dealer do it. Cost me like $80 to fix. 99.9% sure that's the problem. If I did it myself I'd tell you how to do it, but I was fresh out of ideas after changing the bulbs and fuses. So I just had the dealer finish it off for me. Best of luck, hope it works for you

Yeah if u cant find any blown fuses its the relay switch on ur transmission. I just bought one for my truck and im about to install it. the part cost 9.99 so dont get ripped off at the dealer for $80. with no knowledge you could fix it in like ten mins. get the part frist so u know what it looks like, crawl under you truck and look around the transmission. you will see it, on mine its one the side, but there are two other transmissions for a dakota and they have different locations. then unhook it and unscrew it, install the new one and replace the wires. if u still have questions get a haynes and it has a detailed instructions in there.
