Windshield Trim

So the trim pieces around my windshield on the sides are starting to peel and it looks like crap. I'm talking about the black piece on each side of the windshield, the rubber is starting to come off and the metal is showing through. Anyone have any ideas on how to go about covering this up or replacing that piece. Is it even possible to replace without pulling the windshield. If so than

I read you pull the weatherstripping down on each side and unscrew the black peeling pieces. They also said they were around 35 at the dealer.

The weatherstripping in the door when you open it? That's the only place I can think of. I'll have to go look at it.

Yes. Thats what I understood also. Mine is peeling but I havent got around to trying yet.

Just went and checked an there are a few torx screws right underneath the weather stripping that hold it in. Thanks for the info, I want to get this fixed because it looks like crap. For $35 dollars though I might wander the junkyard next time I'm home for a better looking set.

sand it and paint it gloss black...

I'm thinking it would probably start to tarnish but if ypou could keep it polished up it might be ok.

I might try to take them off and paint them with some kind of rubberized coating or just regular paint. Because if they are really $35 then I'm gonna try to avoid getting them from the dealership.

i think just the metal would look pretty cool IMO, as long as it was kept polished

awesome, i need to fix mine too because it looks terrible. i thought you had to pull the windshied to change the trim so this is good news. too bad i was just at a junk yard the other day, could have gotten some.

anyone have the part number for these pieces? i looked on the parts breakdown cd i have and i can't seem to find them on there.
