Hi All,
I recently rebuilt my 44RE transmission in my 97 Dakota and installed a superior shift kit P/N K500-618 (http://www.cascadetransmissionparts.com/42re44reshiftcorrectionkit92to98.aspx)
I am currently having a hard time with the truck clunking or clanging hard into reverse. It engages hard then goes clang like it is resonating from the rear axle. However, it won't clang when engaging forward gear like Drive. I can post a video tomorrow of the sound. The truck did not do this before the rebuild and valve body upgrade. I followed the standard duty instructions and swapped the springs and removed a check ball from the valve body. Any ideas? I will post instructions of the kit, which directions I followed and a video of the harsh engagement.
Thanks
