I am looking to replace the Michelin tires with something that does better in snow and ice. The Michelins do great in the dry and on wet pavement, can't go anywhere with getting into 4x4 mode. I am looking at the Kumho tires mention anyone tried these on a Dakota. My brother runs them on his duramax and likes them.
I just had these put on my Durango, in anticipation of winter weather & who knows what else might pop up. I drive 90 miles/day and I want to be prepared. It's only been a couple of weeks, so no bad weather yet, but I checked out other brands, read reviews and did research for a month before finally deciding on these. I think they'll turn out to be just what we're looking for. They're quiet, I've detected no real mileage loss and the severe weather snowflake symbol gives me confidence for light to moderate snow.
FYI: I drive an 02 SLT Plus, no longer have the R/T. Was running R/T 275/60/17, but changed to 265/65/17 just 2 weeks ago when I got the Kumhos.
I went with Goodyear Duratrac tires, and they kick ass in the snow.
I was rolling right through 20 plus inches, and I was amazed how well they did.
