You will have a light in the dash that turns on when you first turn the ignition on. It may look like a key, say security or just be a circle. It will turn on solid and stay on for about 5 seconds and then turn off.
Im pretty sure thats a chipped key. my bros jeep has the EXACT same key and its chipped. my 05 Dak ST has chipped keys, so Id assume all 05+ Dak/Dur are chipped
The key still works, however, the remote does not. Could I purchase a non-transponder key and just switch the guts out? I wouldnt worry about it, except it makes it so much easier to get in the car with a small child in tow.
A Non-Chipped key will not start a chipped vehicle. I dont know if the Chip part is part of the fob or key, mine is built into the key. no fob on it
