You're better off IMO to go with a turbo Ecotec 4. I've seen in Hot Rod magazine an Ecotec pushing over 900 horsepower with the stock internals going land speed racing. These turbo motors are direct injected and the tuning capabilites are pretty much endless. Here's an article on building up those Ecotecs.

I would go with the Cobalt SS Turbo Charged. Buddy of mine has one, and the only mods he has is a cut out and tune. Mostly stock right? He went to the track the other day and ran a 13.2 with street tires. He's getting a down pipe put on and stickier tires, then a tune and gonna shoot for 12s. Once the rest of the mods start coming out he will be really running. I'm seriously thinking about getting one of these myself.

well IDK if you are looking new or old. If it was me I woud look for a clean 92-95 Civic hatch and go to town with it.

Toyota celical all trac 4wd.
Dodge Colt Turbo
Mazda speed 3
SRT 4
I don't like the cobalts

If you will be rich find a toyota supra

thats all that needs to be said. I cant believe this topic is on a SECOND page.

there is no such thing as a FWD sports car. IF there was Porsche, BMW, Aston Martin, Ferrari, and Lamborghini would be making them.

I think he knows what America is. America is the mob. Conjure magic for them and they'll be distracted. Take away their freedom and still they'll roar. The beating heart of America is not the marble of the Congress, it's the cellulose of the Hollywood. He'll bring them death, pestilence, and disease - and they will love him for it.

where I used to work there is a guy that has a heavily modded vw jetta claimed he could smoke vettes and vipers from a roll. He had dyno sheets showing he was putting 350+ to the wheels.

2 of the developers took him out to the 3 lane road near work and from 15mph showed him how wrong he was.

Maybe you have never been to a road course race or related SSCA event.

You will see 1,000 dollar dodge omnis, honda civics, and mini's surpasing the high dollar exotic cars.

Actually I go quite frequently to the Motorsports Ranch in Benbrook quite often with my old RX7 and Fbody buddies. And your right they can kick ass on small tight tracks and can be a lot of fun. Ive seen the same hatches that can out do a Vette or a 911 sometimes in Benbook become a comical parody at Texas Motor Speedway's inner track.

I actually had an omni converted to an ice track racer while in alaska. It was a blast. roll cage no glass and hex head screws (very short ones) screwed down into the tread blocks. (poor man studs)

So, if you have personally seen them out do some exotics, why would you say there is no such thing as a FWD sports car?

how about I compromise a little

There is no such thing as a FWD sports car that is not a niche performance racer.
