With bikes, you do not get what you pay for! I have seen a couple thousand dollar bikes out last the high dollar ones multiple times over! I have been riding for over 17 years, age doesn't matter here bub!
I have 75,000 miles & still going strong. Been riding since I was 15 & am 52 now, so 37 years of riding. I very happy with my Harley & enjoy it more than any other bikes that I have owned. May not be the fastest bike, but it has been very reliable, get 50 miles to the gallon riding two up & has always had enough power for me. When I got it, it was for my wife (comfy seat), so we could ride together. So far 350 miles in a day has been the norm when we get out. I didn't think that I would enjoy a bagger as much as I have. Now that's all I look at. I'll stick to my Harley, & you can ride what ever you want. I will always wave, stop & help or be friendly to any other biker (no matter what they ride). By the way, I ride about 300 days out of the year here in Colorado.

I'm like you, will ride and wave to all makes. But, Harley has a very bad rep, don't be surprised when it breaks down when you need it most!

Has trouble now, needs a new sensor for the trans. But, when a head is bad under 20K, this is crap!

Not gonna start with the Metric, Harley debate. We've been down that road before and its an un-winnable argument for either side. I'll just post pics of my bikes.

Maybe, but if you take good care of it that does help too. My friend down the street has two and so far they have served him well but then again, he's a mechanic so he's pretty religious about maintenance.

Everything breaks down if you use it, sometimes you can get lucky & catch it before any damage is done. Ride safe & have fun.

I gotta disagree. Harleys are a huge investment. They hold there value more than any other bike i've ever seen. And I put close to 30k miles on my softail custom and never had a single problem. The problem with most harleys is that there owners are rich boys, who don't know the first thing about preventative maintenance

That looks like it would be so fun.
Not really "trials" in the strictest sense. Our main riding is done on steep, narrow, rutted trails and hill climbs where nimble bikes are needed.

For what I do I wouldn't trade it for and MX or Enduro bike in a million years.
