I have a 2004 dakota with the 3.7L in it and I was looking into getting a thrush glass pack muffler on it. Does anybody here have one? If so how does it sound and do you like it? Also is it better to have it cut off after the muffler or just use the stock exhaust pipe? I juse plan on using the stock pipe. Appreciate the help guys!
With that 3.7L it's going to sound like a rice cake driven by the snap-back wearing punk down the street no matter what "thrush" packs you get. You're better off getting a baffled muffler if you want a deeper sound.
I love the sound of glass packs (fresh ones anyway) with true duals on a V8;
I have a set of Thrush welded on my '78 Fury/ true duals, 2-1/4" pipe all the way out,
but Flowmaster 40? NO WAY!!! Flowmaster 50? Maybe.
and duals w/ performance muffs on a V6? umm, yeah that wont sound right.
i rocked a 18" or 20" (don't remember but it was fairly long, maybe even 24") autozone glasspack for years on my 3 liter nissan v6, sounded fine. no raspy ricey crap at all. just my 2 cents.
I had a 40 on my 03SXT and it sounded pretty good all except at about 70mph it got pretty loud in the cab.....it was also a v6
