Hey there.

I know a bit about the SRT-4. I own a 2003 model.

Mine is bone stock still other than rims and tires. (Everytime I get money to do something I buy something else...like my 600rr, a house, have a kid, and now my Dakota!)

I've only had two issues with mine. One was the CD player went out under warrenty. lol. The other is I had an emissions problem that caused the MIL light to come one. That was a 50 dollar part and 10 mins of my time to fix. Other than that I've had no issues with it.

Like others have said I defiantly recommend finding an unmodded one. I would so much worry about years though. 2003-2005 pretty much same. The 04 and 05 are rated more power but I know for what others dynoed the 03 were under rated. So in 04 and 05 they just changed the injectors to say the upped the hp. Only other major things is the 04 and 05 have a LSD which to some is a huge difference. I never noticed a difference driving one with and mine. Also the 04 and 05's had a sunroof option.

As for colors black, silver and red were offered all years.
2003 had yellow as special color
2004 was electric blue
2005 was orange. 2005 also had a commemorative edition that was with blue racing strips. (All SRT models could get this paint scheme)

If you want to know anything else just ask. I've did nothing but eat and breath these cars since 2001 when I first saw the concept.

All the Neon SRT-4's in my area, finding out from another Mopar fanatic like me that worked with me at Sam's last year as a temp, were all riced-out and I am pretty sure those were beat on everyday as well.
I have an 03 Neon SE and all I did was put on a new coil and wires(MSD, hint, hint), K&N Typhoon intake, RP MaxATF, and a Sony headunit that was bought used in 06 with 44K, now has 80K, and besides some cat problems(might have been my fault with SRT-4 MSD wires but I didn't tell ) and I have not had any issues with the head gasket at all.

Thanks for all the info guys! Yeah I would have to find a stock one, no doubt. But the bang for the buck on these seems to be great. Glad to see you guys didn't have any serious problems with them also! Evo's and STI's aren't in the same class as this car (in my opinion). They're around 20 grand used and theres no way I'd pay 20 grand for a used car that I'm 100% sure was beat on ...I NEVER see any of the other SRT-4 models on the road though (Caliber, etc...). Sadly though, there are probably only a couple Neon's hidden around the state somewhere that are still in decent condition.

I've wanted one of these things ever since I had my stratus. I'd love an Evo or an to be different because scoobies are a dime a dozen up here, but the SRT-4 seems more liveable and about 2/3 the price. On a side note the last cash for clunkers car at our local dealer was a Caliber SRT-4. It made me take a second look at my SVX.....

Didn't the Caliber come out in 2008? And they still have to be worth more than the 4500 that the program allows........

All I know is they had a red Caliber SRT-4 sitting out front that said "last cash for clunker". And I know for a fact that enough SVX'i got traded in for that program to make a dent (albeit small) in the national population, so they were definintely eligible.

I would sport and SRT-4.

I think with a CF trunk lid (to get rid of that HORRID spoiler) they'd be a nice DD.

Lots of dealers were matching the C4C rebate so some new cars were turned in because they got $500 more on that program than they did on straight trade.

I've been looking for a nice SRT4. If you keep a lookout dealers usually have stock ones for cheap but they sell to ricers quickly. Craigslist is a crapshoot.

wait a second, as in that was the last car that they were trying to sell that qualified for C4C, or it was the last car that was traded though C4C on a more fuel efficient option??

It was the last car they had they had for sale through the program. For a second I considered trading my Subie in towards it.

What the fuck are you talking about? You seriously more and more made up dumb fucking shit everytime I see you post.

Do you know anything about a uni-body? Have you seen crash test comparisons between unibody, and body-on-frame?

Any car made now for the most part is a unibody.
