I'm AKA Intense RT on Dak R/T forum. I do all my own tuning and have gotten a little guidance from Sean here and there. I mostly pieced together my education on tuning and what each parameter does from Internet searches and PRP forum. Do that and trial and error. Going well so far given the time I have to do it. My tune matched the provided tune I got by doing datalogging, but I didn't like the a/f ratios provided. I've recently done some mods and still working on the tune as it is off again. I can also tell people how to adjust for tire sizes too. Garmin GPS says I'm dead on. As far as I know, the common concensus "was" it cannot be done. I helped Hskr with his and he relay it to Sean as far as I know. Right now, I want to find more on injector offset. I've done searches and found only a little |

Yeah I have noticed that even on the SCT forums its very tight lipped. More questions then answers. Its good to see that you guys are getting together to share input. I will help out the best I can when I can.
I think this should be made into a STICKY... this tread has LOTS of potential for those PRP uses to collaborate and help one another. SPEED SAFE, AIR RAM

I have worked with some people on injector offset and you want to PM me, we can compare notes on what this parameter does. |

I have a little chart I used Paint to splice together to show the relationship of Torr, Kilopascals, and PSI. It should help because eveyone is familiar with psi. To those not sure, this is where manifold absolute pressure comes into play for the pcm to calculate how much fuel to add. Think of it as one part of an equation. a x b x c x d for example. When you change the fuel multiplier for wot you are changine one of these factors. I'll see if I can attach the table I made as it's a lot easier tuning with it up on the desktop than going to a site and converting to each and writing it down. Then you can scan across the columns.... [Just in case, after you click on thumbnail, when it comes up, hover mouse pointer over it, wait a sec, then click the blow up square that pops up so you can read it.] Last edited by Mach : 11-07-2009 at 02:32 PM. |

Thanks for the table. LM-2 seems like a decent option but if we could only get more products that will let us read fuel trims and other important parameters, it would help us PRP users a LOT.

all of this is very useful information...i plan on getting the PRP after the turn of the year and would like to learn everything i can about tuning to maximize my setup.

They both are useful so if you could try to see if you can log all of them, it would help. You will see the STFT go a lot faster than the LTFT so if the software or PCM is bogged down, it will look a lot slower. Fuel Rail Pressure would be very helpful as well but it looks like some of these parameters would be available in more of the newer PCM's but as many of those PIDS you could confirm, I, and I'm sure other people, would appreciate it. It would also help if people would help Mach so that h eisn't doing all of the work.
Important PIDS: STFT - Both Banks LTFT - Both Banks Fuel Rail Pressure MAP voltage or reading with an Engineering unit of some sort Barometric Pressure is helpful Coolant Temp Vehicle Speed Intake Air Temp Engine Load Commanded EQ Ratio Open/Closed Loop Real Time status And a few others but like I said, as much as you are willing to do would be appreciated. Mach, I'll shoot you an email to dive into it more. The injector offset "generally" allows for you to compensate for larger or smaller injectors. Making a change a there would keep you from altering the fuel table. I'd like to test this again. I went so long not messing with that because a year ago a customer put in 30# injectors and away we went with rescaling. Nothing worked. The customer just recently found out they were freaking 18# Ford Explorer injectors.
