Chrysler A-535 manual trans fluid

What type of fluid should it have? It is in an 89 Dakota. In the shop manuals the only trans that I see listed is an NP-2500. Thanks.

The New Process A535 / 2500 5 Speed are the same transmission. SAE 10W-30 engine oil is the fluid recommendation

Thanks Scat. I thought I was loosing it when I couldn't find it in my book. All I showed was an NP2500 and his tag said A-535. He had put 80w90 gear oil in it this summer and was complaining of it shifting hard when cold. I told him then to put the 10w30 motor oil in it then. Thanks again!

Not a problem. That would definitely make for some hard shifts.
