Started Building New System/ Fiberglass Box

Well I started the construction of a new fiberglass box. The Box will stay beneath the rear glass and house (4) Memphis 12" Dual 2ohm CM's. I contructed the box out of 3/4 MDF and painted the entire inside of the enclosure with fiberglass resin to make the box stronger and to also make the wood smooth as glass. Rumor has it that painting the box with resin will gain 2-3 DB on the meter. I have plenty so why not give it a shot. I have the rings constructed but I'm still waiting on the woofers so I can drill bolt the holes in the rings before I glass them in.

Funny, looks kind of what I plan on doing some time (If I see it like I think) run 4-12's but will probably stick with 2-12's. 4-12's are to wide? Looks good and good luck!

I keep hearing good things about memphis. The more I hear the more I will never buy

yeah- no baffles- the Port's edge's are all rounded over- Kinda hard to see in the pic I know- When it's all glassed in you'll understand the concept more Im sure. I also made the port large for a reason- Glass is diiferent to work with and you never really no how much sq ft the box will have until it's finished- I can guess pretty close but thats still not good enough- With the port being on the large side it leaves room for me to tweak it and close it in some if needed to get the right tune. Also when you tune a box. To tune it right you have to find out the vehicles resonate frequency. once you find the vehicles note you can tune the box to that and have some real heart pounding bass. Ever notice how a box is louder sometimes with the doors or windows down- Thats because the box isn't tuned to the resonate freq and is begging for more airspace to create that freq. I want that with the truck sealed shut.
