In my neighborhood advance, autozone, and pepboys all have fairly cheap(under $50) options from edlebrock, holley, mr gasket, base-lid-filter-some have bolt and wingnut, some have probably been removed from packaging by 5 fingers discounts.

I'm reading the 14'' k&n thread and it looks like an offset or dropped base might be needed, still trying to figure it out before I purchase.

Unless you find some funky adapters of some sort, you can't do the 14x3 open element on a 4.7L.

Yea, and it seems like not many people have tried it either.

But I don't like feeding the beast hot air at the strip, so I picked up an aftermarket Mustang hoodscoop, made it functional, cut a hole in the hood and modded the scoop to look more MOPAR and less Rustang....Plus, the air filter sticks a little above the hood now.

Thanks for the shot. No doubt a hood scoop allways looks great and of course, nothin like cold air being fed in.
