actually if you cut off the mounting section of the keggar to the heads, weld on some 1 5/8 tubing up to an box where the 2 TBs were mounted.....

how well can you weld????

Oh wait there goes simple.

I thought about it and decided if it came to that, it would be easier to just machine some plates.

Do you have much experience TIG welding aluminum?

Contemplating the set-up a little more.

This shows the TB on top of the base of the manifold. In this situation it would have to be a direct one-to-one linkage because there is no plenum.

This pic shows the TBs atop the plenum which I would intend to cut down so it isn’t so high.

?????? why couldn't you cut two T/B flanges off of existing keggers and weld them to the top of a kegger intake??????

The kegger is not as condusive to higher rpm.

Pulled the M1 2-bbl and installed the tunnel ram to check for fitment issues. Looks like I can make it work. A lot of different mods are necessary though. The thermostat water neck is going to be interesting.

Machined the injector bung holes at a 12-degree angle. Also machined relief’s for the manifold bolt bosses. Arrow in last pic shows one boss for mock-up. I will make them longer than necessary, and once welded on, I will machine them down to height and drill the holes. I've also got to make a fixture like the wood blocks to get the injector bungs at the right position so the person welding doesn't have to think about anything but welding. I can't afford a TIG welding machine right now so I'll have to farm the welding out.

Thanks! I've thought about the oval air cleaner but I don't think I'll have engough room at the firewall for it. I'll see where I'm at when I cut the ram log down.

i defiantly think you should do the oval intake. make it work. if you can make this intake work, im sure you can make an airfilter work....

looks really cool. idk what you use your truck for but even if you loose a few horsepower, i think its BADASS and one of a kind. WAY cooler than an M1.

I'l give more thought to the air cleaner as I progress but the oval is not out of the question. I do like to look of 'em.

I just horse around in this truck so it's all for fun. I plan on using a couple of my machined OEM TB's on it, maybe two 50mm units.

I hope to gain HP in the mid and high range. As far as low end, I've got plenty and can afford to lose some. The power range of this intake is from 2800-8000. There are a number of single plane intakes with that range or even up to 10000. I've got a gear, may increase the stall, and maybe put a bigger cam in it. But for now I want to get it on and see how it functions as is. I also plan to cut a few inches out of the ram log height which may lower the rpm range but I'm not sure.

Thanks for the vote of confidence!

Looking good. If you go with a 1:1 linkage between the throttle bodies, you might want to look into a less agressive throttle cam for a managable tip-in.

Thanks! Yes I have been thinking about the tip-in. I may set up a progressive linkage where one TB opens first, and then the second one opens later, but at a faster rate, to catch up to the first TB, for a throttle position somewhere after tip-in, so they continue to open at the same rate from that point on. I'll have to make it adjustable so I can tune it.
