Just bought my new cap/rotor/wires and traced my wires according to the previous. Little tough considering the location under the firewall but I thought I had it right. Won't start. Was hoping to see a sticky or even find something on search for this logical first step of troubleshooting. Guess I've gotta do it one component at a time. Being my daily driver, already stashing my bike for a couple weeks waiting for my old shack to get knocked down and a real garage built means I'm screwed if I can't solve this one quick. Anyone gots info?
You got V6 or V8?
I don't know firing order off hand, but it should be stamped onto you intake manifold, under and in front of your throttle body, if you are standing in front of your truck.
Firing order 1-6-5-4-3-2 (rotor goes clockwise)
#1 cylinder is drivers side front...with #3 & #5 behind it....#2,4,& 6 are on the passenger side
#1 on dist cap is at the 9:00 position
All this info per 1994 Service manual....not sure if it's the same as your v6
The 2003 is identical. Yes I found the firing order and in the morning light saw I had wires crossed on both banks! Won't run on only 2 cylinders firing when they're supposed to! All good now, thanks for the input.
