I have 265/70/16 on mine. I asked for 265/75/16 and the guy at the shop told me it would rub with the stock setup.

4X4 or 4X2?
Standard size for the 4X4 is 245/70/16 (29.40"Dia.)with an optional size of 265/70/16 (30.40" Dia.) available.
4X2 came with 245/70/16 and 255/65/16 (29.06" Dia.) is the optional size.
On the 4X4 you can safely run a 265/75/16 (31.50" Dia) and not have rubbing issues.
For the 4X2 the 265/70/16 should work.

WRONG. I have 32 x 10.5 x 15 on mine and am pretty sure I could run a 33 if I tightened the torsion bars. NO PROBLEMO

Not on a 4X2... ;)
And even on a 4X4 you could have some rubbing on lock to lock turns with 33's.

I run 33 x12.5 on my 2001 dak qc 4x4. I had to add a 3" body lift, cut a lot of plastic and crank the torsions and still had rub at full crank and wheeling. I can't imagine running anything larger than 30's or 31's on a 2wd....

my 98 has 33's with tightened torsion bars, the newer dakotas like yours, if 4x4, i would go with an equivelent to a 32" tall tire, youll be aight.
