sounds like it makes sense, but why dont spark plugs just come like that?

wont that just weaken the spark by spreading it out..or im i completely wrong since i dont know much about spark plug science??

i dont know why it would "weaken" the spark, if its however many volts comin from the tip, it should still be that many volts when it hits the ground thing...as long as its close enough for it to reach it.

isnt the distance between the spark and ground increased???

and i know air is not a conductor..yea its only min loss but a loss rite?

couldnt you relate it to a shotgun like how closer to the blast the more power recieve and farther away less power??

now i may be completely wrong since im talkin about what i rember from highschool science class...so let me know..

actually, it is .010 CLOSER then it was stock, you have to re gap it once its done.

im going to have to try this on my snowmobile this winter, but i run br9-es plugs, i know i have to run those because they are hotte plugs, so would i be better off doing this with a cooler plug?

Hey DownBoi, Did you try the side gapping? I'm interested but want to know if it works first. The gap would be set to .025 if used with the autolite 3923's. That seems extremely small considering stock recommends .040 or .035 depending on the year.

no licence til march?????? how did you meet up with rlg??? You didn't have your mom drive you did ya!!!! lol :jester: This seems like it would work but give you shortened plug life. That's the side effect of having less electrode to wear.

I did this to my 03, 4.7L , carefully cut them then regapped to 25 & put em in the truck. To be honest could not tell if it did any good, but it sure didn't hurt either. maybe if you were wot all the time you could tell a diff. but not everyday driving.
