Ordered 4.56 gears, Hello0o0o lower crawl ratio!

Like titled, I ordered my Yukon 4.56 gears and install kits the other day. Not bad @ $535 shipped for all of it.

Stock crawl ratio w/3.92 gears - 31.9872 to 1 (32:1)

Crawl ratio w/4.56 gears - 37.2096 to 1 (37:1)

Will raise it by 5.2224 to 1 (5:1) :biggthump



Best of all, RPM increase will only be:

350 more @ 70mph
400 more @ 80mph

Not sure, but it should be pretty good I hope. With 4wd and 12.5" wide tires, I'll be able to launch at whatever RPM I want. :D

After the gears, the truck will be going on a Dyno to finally see how much power I'm working with. I also wouldn't mind taking it to the track to see how slow my heavy-ass 4x4 really is.

Yeah I don't doubt it. The cost is the reason why they're one of the last mods of my list and why I'm finally doing them.

when are you getting them installed? Update us on the progress. So with 31" tires would the rpm change be even less or more?

With 31's the RPM change would be more.

Bigger tires = lower RPM
Higher gears = lower RPM

Smaller tires = higher RPM
Lower gears = higher RPM

I expect to get the gears installed sometime in the month of November. I've got a big offroad trip at the end of this month and want to make sure it goes well first.
