Anyone put an electric fan on one yet? If so which one did you use?
Im asking V8 guys cause we dont have much room between waterpump pulley and radiator.
I measured mine and I have MAX 3 1/2 inches. :cussing:

I have even less room on the outside of the radiator. Thats why I asked the v8 guys what they have used.

Nothing against v6s, I just need specifics from someone with the same engine.

I was able to use a stock 2.5l electric fan on my old 1991 dakota. I converted it to an 89 tbi 318, I know it wasn't magnum but the older engines gave up less space than the magnums. I had @1/2 inch between the pulley and the fan housing. I know it doesn't look trick or anything to have a stock 2 blade fan there but everything looked factory and I had no problems with overheating.

it should fit with no problem. how you plan on mounting it? with those zippy tie things..(pull through radiator type)?? or mount it to a braket of some sort?
try looking at beCool, or SPAL. Spal has a real sweet dual 11" fan that would definatly work in it. thats what im doing when my v8 is done.

You should pull the rest of the motor along with that fan and put a magnum V8 in there :D :D

I had to use a pre-mag because it was @1995 when I did this so Magnums were a hard item to find. I did use a v8 dak radiator but my stock (4cyl) fan worked well with it the whole thing looked factory and I was able to use my temp switch from the 4cyl as well.

I have a Flex-A-Lite Dual 12" Setup right now (its still sittin on my DESK, for over a YEAR now...) but it'll work GREAT! Before I had 2 12" fans w/o a shroud (sp) around them, worked great 'cept in traffic with the A/C blaring when it wsa 102 outside. around 95ish, never had a problem.
I was told it was because it didn't have a shoud, so this setup does. The space shouldn't be a problem cause the fans are offset (not 1 big fan) so it should have plenty of room. Not to mention the 2 pull about 1000 CFM MORE than 2 12s combined (Not sure how, just reading the specs)
SPAL makes some nice dual unit too. I would recomend finding a way to NOT through mount the fans. I've heard bad things about doing it (course my old man's truck has dual 16"s through mounted for like 3 years now w/o a problem) I am going to TRY and make a bracket on the top to hold it, and MAYBE use the through mounts on the bottom (to hold it in place, but NOT support the weight of the unit)
