hey guys just needed to spread the wicked news my cousin is trading me his 1947 Chrysler windsor for some bodywork on his 74 challenger, Chrysler needs full resto. but its pretty solid car comes with 2 parts cars as well. (mostly for chrome and glass) should start the project in the next few months. any ideas for the car would be awesome im pretty sure it wont be restored more of a rad-rod type deal but would like to give it some shiny point one day! share your ideas please! Im going to clean it up a bit and take some pics also.

Drop a HEMI in it! :mullet: :rockwoot: Doesn't matter if its the 1G, 2G, or the 3G2 HEMI, it's not a pure Mopar without a HEMI under the hood! :funny: :jester: :p

You wish! :jester: I'd be keeping any 3G HEMI for myself, especially if it did not come with the trans, then you would be SOL.
Cheapest V8/trans combo I can think off the top my head that is Mopar is the 5.2/5.9 V8 Magnum's, as the availability of them are widespread due to being offered in three vehicles in Dodge's lineup, Ram, Dakota, and Durango. I think you would have better luck than me finding those engine/tranny combos as most of the junkyards I visited did have very many Dakota's.

that's a good idea. i think there is a website that you can even go to to get more info on the 5.2/5.9. i forgot the address though.

oh, wait. it's this one.

its gonna be insane cool... planning laker style dumps on each side molded into the lower body of the car coming out before the rear tires(needs new metal anyways) sitting in the weeds, probly some sort of body drop/choped roof i would figure. Im actualy going to put a V6 in it, a 97 cummins turbo actualy :) the snow landed so the car is being moved to the shop where i work.

"Lake" style pipes, as in Dry lakes and it's "Rat" Rod, not Rad, lol.

I worked an auto auction recently. They had a bigass 40's Packard with a Cummins in it that was going up on the block. That thing was REALLY cool!! I'd go that route if I could.
Then I'd air bag it down low and run some type of steel wheel with a Vintage cap. NO BILLET!!!
