I have been hooked by the hemi, I have found more from cars, such as the 300c, or charger; for sale than I have from trucks. But I dont think Iv seen the swap done with one. Is there a reason for this? I believe Iv read something about them being slightly different but are they so different as to not work out? Thanks and Great Job on all those swaps. they are wonderful.

the intake is longer and the acc's are setup different, they are lower and tend to get in the way of frames and they get messed up in some off road conditions. The intake also can get in the way of the hood closing, the truck motor is just a little more compact

I am using a car front timing cover. The engine is being installed in a 98 RC 2 wheel drive Dakota. There are no issues with frame interference, plenty of room. I started with a truck engine but converted to the car style front cover due to running a 6.1L aluminum intake.
The accessories on the truck get in the way of a car 5.7 or 6.1L intake manifold requiring an adapter kit to clear the throttle body.
Either engine will work fine, just depends on what you want.

I should have mentioned that I used the truck motor in mine since its a 96 and has a saginaw steering box. The newer trucks got the rack and pinion steering that is more out of the way. I also dont think I have the room under the hood to run an LX intake manifold

The LX manifold is overrated IMO, and I would be very glad that you don't have to use it.
