Its a common problem, according to the techs at my shop that used to work for chrysler, that bar shifts a tiny bit or gets scratched up during assembly then water finds its way in and rusts it. Mine is fucking wicked, but its a lease so IDC. Ill get pics posting in a minute

Worst part is there is no way to take that bar off to correct what is going on between the bar and the side structure

Its warranty work, but it will prob keep coming back, since like i said, there is no way to remove that bar. But take it in and see what they say. I dont plan on keeping mine so it doesnt bother me.

I am planning on buying my next one though. I want one with tow hooks and the hitch and the dvd/nav unit that it comes with. I also want it in the charcoal gray or black

My uncle,uh stepuncle?? i guess, worked for dodge for a bunch of years,he said they more than likely wont cover it untill there is a hole.So i guess i will live with it for now.I bought this truck with all the options i wanted because i planned on keeping it.

Should be warranty, hole or no hole, but you can always ask if you ever take it in for service. I got mine off the lot cuz i got a good deal on it, its almost fully loaded

I wouldn't bet on your uncles advice. Just go in and realistic about your expectations for the repair, dont think your going to get a fresh paintjob out of it or anything. Just have them send it to a body shop to be blasted, prepped and reshot in that area.

X2......................they will look after it now , because it is way cheaper to fix now than later when it is completely rotten......
