Powerdyne charger on a 3.9

well the only s/c i can find for the 3.9 is the krc performance one and its like $4000. has anyone ever fitted a powerdyne for a 5.2/5.9 on a 3.9 like a powerdyne; or will it even fit? And if not, does any other company make a s/c for the 3.9? I have thought about building a turbo setup but the only welder i can come into contact with is at school and i dont have enough time there to do it.

Search the archives at dd.com and the DML. A couple people put Powerdynes on the V6. Some minor modification is needed I think, but nothing really big.

this may be alittle late but DO NOT buy a powerdyne, esp one for 4000$ all of the ones from v8's will fit u will just have to modify the discharge tube

whats wrong with the powerdyne chargers? And is the extension bracket that the S/C mounts on a direct bolt on the 3.9 like it does on a 5.2/5.9? And what kind of Horsepower would a completely stock V6 make with a S/C putting out about 8psi of boost?

Ok I do not know about the fitment, but the PowerDyne blower use'es a belt drive inside the blower that is why they do not take oil. They work fine unless you try to drive them more than they are set to be driven, the belt will burn up. $4000 is way to much to pay for a Powerdyne blower kit. I do know that Ford Racing puts there name on the Powerdyne blower and sells it in there catalog so it must not be to bad. I do know that Vortech and Paxton are better. The best form waht i here is Procharger.

mmm i like my V6 though. And I want it to be my daily driver, so i dont want something i can smoke everything on the road with, i just want it to be enough to make me feel good everytime i floor it. Plus i plan on taking it back to germany with me so gas mileage is kind of an issue.

I would bet that a good (not Powerdyne) blown v6 would be cheaper than building an N/A v8.

Sorry i ment like putting a diffrent pully on it and making more boost, thats what i ment by driveing it more. It is much better the build a v8 truck. There is a kid that lives down the street from me and he just put a Vortech 8psi blower on his v6 stang and i still smoke the shit out of him with my geared stock engine 5.0. I love the way my Trucks runs with the 3.7 and is is quik, but i would never try to make it any faster than it is. Do what you want I just hate to see you send all that money and not get the power you want or could have for the same amount in a v8.
