The reputation system in vBulletin is designed for people to submit private/personal feedback for other users based on a particular note they have posted on the website. Unfortunately over time the reputation system on this website became a game for people to play, and as a result the rep values became relatively worthless.
I have decided to reset the reputation system back to ground zero. Everyone now has the default base value of 10 points.
From this point forward each feedback that is submitted will be worth one (1) point, regardless of who submits it.
I would like to see users take a little more consideration regarding who they are repping, and why they are sending that feedback. As a result, users are now able to submit fewer feedbacks per day than they used to, and must "spread the love" to more users before they can loop back around and send rep to the same person twice.
Users will once again be able to leave positive or negative feedback for other users, but I must caution everyone that the rep system is being forced back to a direct feedback system.
** If you start sending people neg reps just because you are an asshole, you will lose the ability to use the reputation system. This is a new function going forward - screw with me and you'll get burned and possibly banned.
** Do not whine or complain in the public forums because you received a neg rep from someone. As I already mentioned above - send me a private message. People who publicly whine will be ignored and possibly smacked.
** People who send neg reps back at people just because you received one from them will find their reputation system priviledges revoked.
** The reputation system is being reset so that points can be computed based on real feedback. If I find that people are starting to whore up the rep points again (regardless of + or -) I will reset you back to 0 and most likely strip your reputation priviledges.
