Happened about an hour ago,(Driver side) busted headlight fucked bumper even more, flattened door, dented door, dented/flattened panel beneath club cab window, didnt even look at bedsidee, front fender is out of alignment with hood, but not dented or bent at all. Real nice scuff possible creases on hood where the thing licked there also.

Too dark for pics just what i saw while making the report

I wouldn't mind whackin' a deer actually...only cost me $100 and I'd get my front end repainted (read as, no more rock chips).

That said, I'm not going to aim for one.

Will normally install a skin, the strict budget they go by doesn't alllow for new doors unless the door is completly destroyed!!

Hint Hint!!!yeah definitely needs new skin. It got the body line. And i see the door reinforcement but ut doesnt appear to be bent at all. New body ideas r running through my head!

Painted on instead of vinyl trim behind window, painted handles and mirrors, im debating on buying a cowl hood and having it done at same time also. Just dont know yet, depends on estimate.

about four years ago a f350 took a sharp left hand turn and did the freddy cugor act on my truck from the passenger door all the way to the rear of the bed, even the bumper caught my tire and blew out the tire and broke the leaf spring!! then the new stuff was no badges, roll pan, cowl hood, you get the point, I have already changed the whole front end since then, but keep us up todate on the changes and progress!! Did you have to call the Fish and Wildlife to report the deer accident, in Florida its the LAW!

No i might check in to it. But the cop said to report it to the state maybe thats what he was meaning?

I dont believe i killed it, but i dont know. I went looking for it this morning but couldnt find it. Looked last night also but was just too foggy to see.

I actually did it myself relatively cheap ($500 deductible/cheaper premiums) by getting a keyed up junkyard door ($25 stripped of power stuff), and got it painted ($150).. and just had to put all power accessories/mirror etc back on.

I got lucky and it only took out that single body panel, the door.

Damn the bad luck Dude! I don't know about your state, but in NC, you can make the NC Wildlife Division pay for your damages. The deer population is regulated and controlled by the State so that makes them responsible for the deer and any damage they do to peoples vehicles. Had a Bud of mine made the State buy him a new car after a damn deer came thru the windshield and literally destroyed the whole front end and the interior not to mention the huge medical settlement he got out of it also. May be worth checking into!

I don't know what the structure of my door looked like when I wrecked my truck, but it wasn't that fubared, door opened and closed fine. I ended up with a brand new door, there were no doors to be had in my area at a reasonable price, so I got new parts.

In fact, all of my parts were brand new, save for the mirror.

I worked for a guy that had an old pelt he'd lay over the front of an old truck (tranfer of animal hair). don't need to hit it too hard if you want to just get it painted:D

I just hit a deer friday on my way to work. Fucker came in the windshield. 3rd deer taken with my DD. Don't see why there is a deer season in these over populated counties in Georgia. Must have been nice in the 70s when there was not any deer left in Georgia! I can't wait till gun season when I can blast a few of these fuckers!

At the front counter at autozone there is a little device that will detour deer and wild life from running in front of you, you guys that have hit more that two deet should try it and let us know if it works!:jester:

May be cheaper than body repair!:drive:

One place I worked they had a company in doing noise level testing and the subject got around to those deer whistles. They did some testing on them for the local county and couldn't get them to produce the frequency they were supposed to even with different mounting positions and vehicle speeds.
Plus when they were doing the testing which consisted of a bunch of multiple passes past there test equipment someone called the cops to report some "suspicious" activity.:jester:

Best luck I've had is with one of those high pitched electric air horns, seemed to stop them in their tracks or act least make them veer back into the ditch.

I hit a deer with my '01 a little over a year ago. I had the cruise set at about 55, didn't see it till it was a hood ornament, and the deer ran away.

It didn't look too bad, I drove it on home and then to the body shop. Radiator didn't leak or anything, grille didn't look like it even touched the condenser, barely dented the hood and one fender, the grille / bumper cover / one headlight were gone, but the body shop went through and replaced the engine cover / battery tray / radiator / all kinds of stuff I didn't see wrong with it. They even replaced both my front rain guards on the doors, one of them was starting to pull loose (tape on) long before I hit the deer. They ended up getting $6877 out of the insurance company for that one, I was surprised they didn't total it out.

My insurance premium didn't go up a dime either, they consider hitting a deer an act of God.
