What MPG are those of you that have done Hemi swaps getting?

I'm torn between a Hemi and 408 and price wise its looking as if they run about the same for comparable power.

I get about 15 on the highway, and that's no less than I got before the swap.

cool :) Im hoping after the first of the year Ill actually get some time to start getting serious about finding an engine and starting getting everything towards my truck started. Im still tossing things around as to specifics :)

I am getting 17-18 city, and 23-25 highway. Much better then I used to get. My Fan is keyed on, So I could get better mileage if I put a controller on it to get the motor up to temp.

Sweet :D

the Hemi or 408 decision is becoming easier since Ill spend about the same on both motors.

josh, i don't know how your mileage sucked so bad, before or after the swap... i get 20 on the highway, 13 in the city, with my 4.7. i'm also 4x4, with 31"s, and a heavier truck. you'd think that especially after your hemi swap, it'd be better: as your new engine only needs to idle to carry yo down the freeway :)

I don't think my truck is too far off from yours as far as weight goes. I weighed it the other week and it was 4720 lbs. with me in it, and I'm 150 lbs. That was with about 1/4 tank of gas, no spare tire, no skid plates, and no toolbox or tools.

Remember I've got 33x12.5 M/T's, as well 4.56's and a bit of wind resistance. ;)

33s and 4.56 wont do anything good for MPG. :drive:
