Has anyone else had a master cylinder failure on a 2002 Dakota 4x4 or any Dakokta? Two days ago I was headed to my in-laws for thanksgiving and about 200 miles from home I was going over a pass 7500' when to use to brakes and they went to the floor. Thank God they still worked alittle. I have 62,000 miles on it. Must say I'm not to happy.

You want to hear something crazy, I ordered a master cylinder and it came in about three days later, I picked it up and was going to install it on Saturday on Friday I went somewhere in it and the brakes where back. So I bleed the brakes found air in right rear on first pump up, so I blead the others and now I have better brakes than ever. Go figure.

You seem to have found the effect now find the cause.
Where did the air come from?
make sure you have no leaks. if you can't see any remove the M/C from the brake booster and look down insid the booster if you see fluid the master is bad (primary pistion secondary seal).
