So I'm shopping for a PCM, as I want the extra horses. And I see you all talk about changing the programming for the grade of gas you buy.
Which units are chageable like that?
And is that an On The Fly thing? I mean, if I had it in Economy mode, while cruising down the freeway, and wanted to go to power mode, could I just hit a switch and go for it, or are there hoops to jump though?
And if anyone has advice on wht their fav unit is, I'm open to suggestions.

I have the Mopar PCM for my R/T and I love it. But since yours is newer than a 2000...you could go with Superchips or Hypertech. My buddy had a Superchips programmer and it woke his truck up.
Or you could always save up for the custom flash :banana2:

OK. Do these let the adjustments be made on the fly? Or is it a stop and adjust thing?
Superchips and Hypertech are both programmers. You plug it in and it downloads and stores your stock PCM program then uploads you choice of programs. No it cannot be done on the fly.

no that i am aware of. i hae not seen or heard of any for any application, maybe for rice but thats them.
best to sve up for a custom flash. Mike Leach and B&G Chrystler are the best ones. both cost about the same and can be tailored to your current/future mods. Call B&G or for the Mile Leach, www.socaldakota.com and see if they can do a 4.7 yet.
many have had success with Superchips and Hypertech units though they have their limitations. great for when ya have to do a SMOG nazi inspection. :cussing: for your case, use one of these.
There are no "on the fly" computer tuners for the Durango/Dak. Diesel tuners do have on the fly modules.

So what all is involved in the programmers, is it a quick thing, or does it take a while? Like, could I pull over and be done in 1 or 2 minutes, or is it a pain?
