for those of you who came to the McCandless Mopar Classic auto show about a week ago you saw the damage I got on that Friday...

It's not too bad...but surprisingly, Haddock Collision Center estimated a shocking $1,280 worth of damage.

I'm getting new paint on the front right fender, front door skin and painted, dents pulled out of the cab and repainted, and bed is getting fixed from the scratches.

The t-bone wasn't too bad...and it wasn't my fault at all.

Anyways, doesn't look too bad:

I'm getting it in the shop on Monday...so I'll have a rental car. I'm hoping its something good haha...because I'll have it for about 2-3 days.

i'll do a small burnout or something...maybe fish tail it or something. but nothing too big.

WOW...I can guess that you replaced the door, but what about the body? The part of the cab behind the door. How did you fix/repair that? And about how much did it cost you?

Yeah when I got hit, Enterprise put me up in a brand new quad cab GMC Canyon that had 87 miles on the odometer.. Little fucker had balls, I'll tell you. I put about 800 miles on it, and I think I took about 5,000 miles off the back tires! :D I ROMPED on that truck! And the best part was I had the truck for about 4 weeks, and the other guy's insurance company picked up the 'do what you can to it for $20 a day' insurance, because I only carried liability on my truck at that time. I didn't put a scratch on it cosmetically the whole 4 weeks, but the night before I was to return it, someone smacked into it in a parking lot and took off the driver's side mirror. :funny:

You are seriously an asshole if you don't romp on a rental! It's a one night stand with no coyote ugly in the morning! :D

You call THAT a Tbone?

I say that its just a flesh wound.

Try a fully loaded dump without the tag down and a little fuckin mexican driver that could not see over his fucking steering wheel. God Bless the Old Bridge NJ Police force. Report says he sat there with the trucker and watched 16 other trucks come out of the asphalt plant and make the same turn without slipping on the imaginary 40 degree ice.

The insurance company is required to put you up in the same class of vehicle as the one that was involved in the accident. So they HAVE to give you at least a pickup. You can choose to go with another class as long as its the same price, or, you can pay the difference between the classes (unless they are out of the class you request, in which case the rental place will upgrade you for free). The GC and the Nitro will be classed as SUV, the RSX and Impreza would be "Premium", Accord and Camry would be "Mid-size", and the S2000 would be convertible. Pickup is normally priced between full size and premium.

Yes I did post pics of it when it happened back in Feb of 06. I did replace the front fender the front door and both flaires. If I remember right the cab corner cost like $280 for the stealer, and I only used the bottom half.

Thanks for the comp on the flames.

And as fare as the T bone the guy hit me with the front of his Jeep and pushed me across 2 lanes of opposing traffic.

Here is how I fixed the cab corner.

Well its been 12 days...and no fix yet.

This guy is avoiding his insurance companies phone calls and letters.

I cannot get my truck fixed until he gives them his statement even though this is all his fault.

this is complete bullshit.

Well my father told me to call the police officer who was there and I ended up speaking with the Police Chief in Wake Forest, NC.

the Police Chief told me to call my insurance company and tell them whats going on. that i cannot get my truck fixed since this guy hasn't made contact with his insurance. why should i have to suffer since this guy isn't making contact? I shouldn't. So yeah...I'm pushing this.

i would push the envelope as far as this could go,thats total bs,,hes got to fix your truck is there nothing atall the police can do to help you sides telling you to call your insurance???12 days is waaaaaaaaaay to long and i thght all they really had to have was the intial report from the responding officer..

I have done all that I could do.

He's made a claim against my insurance. Even though its his fault...he said it was mine. that was the day after the accident.

but ever since then, he has made NO contact what so ever.

I've called my insurance, his insurance, the police, etc. trying to get help.

He goes through Allstate(which sucks in my opinion)...apparently they will not do ANY fixing until both drivers give statements on what happened.

I've given my statement a week ago. They've sent mail to his house and called multiple times. No response.

I'm just getting frustrated. seeing my door jam rust makes me :(

Don't feel bad man, i got rear-ended(no homo) back in January. I was slowing to avoid hitting a car that stopped fast in front of me, and the car behind me hit her brakes, causing the guy that was following her too closely, to hit her and she hit me, and i nudged the car in front. It all got pinned on him( he wasn't even on his parent's insurance) but it took until like May to get everything fixed, i drove around with a f'd bumper and off-center bed. I hate dealing with GMAC....

Maybe because 4 cars were involved is why it took me so long... I don't know, but atleast it wasn't my fault.

Hope you get this settled out soon man, just keep your cool and don't get too frustrated like i did over it.

got the rental car today.

2008 Chevy Cobalt...4 door. oh well...and they didn't even have but like 4 gallons in the tank when I picked it up. :(

I had my truck in the shop, forgot completely about a package I had to ship out in it too. Luckly I called them after closing hours and picked it up though.

Don't feel bad, first time I had to get a rental while the dak was in the shop was a 3cyl Chevy Metro. (pronounced GAY!). I actually asked my mom could I bum the van before I'd drive the metro.
