I play golf though so I like to watch to try and pick up some pointers. I usually don't. I'm not very good. :jester: I haven't played baseball in years but I used to be on a softball league. Consider that they came pretty close. If the Cubs had actually started their normal players in that last series, the Mets would have been eliminated a day earlier with two extra losses. But if I was a Mets fan, I'd put the blame squarely on Wagner.

Yeah, there are tons of fans of those three around here. Although we are a very mixed bunch since we are so far away from everything. The "local" Rookie League (Pioneer League) team is part of the White Sox farm system, so several fans there too. And they used to be a Dodgers farm team, so plenty of Dodgers fans (Pedro even played there for a year).

I think the Wild Card is the best thing to happen to baseball. Instead of having a team take a bi in the first round, you can have several second and sometimes third place teams duking it out until the very end of the season. Makes it much more interesting.

All in all, it was a good season. I'm glad the Brewers at least made the post season, that was exciting to watch and had they not made it that would've been a huge disappointment. I'm glad they won the one game, but I do wish the offense hadn't been so anemic during the Philly series. I was not impressed with their performance at the plate, specifically Hart, Fielder, and Bruan. I really thought those guys would do better. Oh well, we'll see what happens in the off-season. The owner says he'll try to get Sabathia signed, Sheets will be gone (for the better imo) and they'll maybe (I hope) trade Fielder for some pitching.
