http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p55/crleo2003/DSCF1832.jpg

i have 37" irocks
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p55/crleo2003/DSCF1708.jpg

i have lots of outher parts

i have fab skills and tools

what do u all think it would take to install 37s on my durango to make it threw hunting season

i will soon sas but dont have the time now and need better rubber 4 hunting
dont want to buy 33s un less i can find a screaming deal just to take them off

i know the front diff is weak i dont care its not staying

so do u all think i can do this with just mabie a 3" body lift t/s and a little trim

camo89
09-26-2008, 09:14 PM
No.

not even a mabie falt no huh

camo89
09-26-2008, 09:21 PM
37 irocks are not 37" tall

thay are smaller then the 36" irocks wich is the only reason why i was considering it

just trying to get what i can out of whats in there befor i junk it and sas wich i dont have the time to do

I'd say set the wheels up next to the rango and see where you have to go with it to make them work.

camo89

Might be worth it just to get some cheep mudders from a used tire place. Good luck! Looks fun!

3" Bdy lift/ t/s / and some trimming will get you 33"s max no rub. Yeah i know people say :quoties: trim more :quoties: but you will have to hack all the way into the door, then if in the future you sas, the D will look crappy.. this is what im talking about limited trimming

Although i do have a 5.5 susp in the basement missing some parts that i could get rid of for $300. :funny:

Damn, that looks like it makes installing your headers a breeze.

I bet it did.

Yeh the headers look cool through there.

Yeah, they do...you think that mod could work on a non lifted Dak?

09-27-2008, 02:52 AM
heh have the exhaust pipes come out the wheel well

JethroStyles
09-27-2008, 03:15 AM
Hell with it. Bolt them on... they'll clearance themselves...

camo89
09-27-2008, 04:59 AM
well i pulled the front fenders off and well humm

this might work but a narrower tire would work better

well see

lil_black_dak
09-27-2008, 05:09 AM
you will need a really big fucking hammer to beat the shit out of the lower rear fender down by the bottom of the door. i really dont see any way of being to turn with 37's on an not having "atleast" 6 inches of lift. my buddies got a 99 quad cab with the 5.5 tuff country and a 3" body and can fit 37"s and they still rub. now he has 35x15.50 claws on it an it rubs with those.. so good luck man.

camo89
09-27-2008, 05:12 AM
i am way tempted to do this becous every one has told me i cant

i did just find a great deal on some boggers

lil_black_dak
09-27-2008, 05:19 AM
have you took one of the tires off the yoda and actually mocked it up. if you have u will see that to run a tire that big u will need the bottom of the cab to sit about 3/4 up of the height of the tire. even with the fenders and bumper off you will have to do something about the lower front part of the cab cuz i promise you you will not be able to turn. much less have any suspension travel. but hell man if you wanna try it just make sure u take some pics cuz i wanna see a basically non lifted durango on 37's that would be a first. like i said good luck to ya. it was a pain to get my 33x13.50's to fit without rubbin.

edit... idea take the front lower bump stops and cut them off, the mounts and everything shouldn take but a few minitus with a plasma cutter. get some torsion keys and crank the tbars to the absolute max... since ur gonna get rid of the ifs anyways mays well see just how much droop u can get out it without snappin some shit.... and i wanna see

camo89
09-27-2008, 08:25 PM
ok so im mounting up 1 37 on my spair stock wheel today at work

i have the left front fender off my durango all ready for replacement purposes

so im going to see what all is in the way what can be worked with and go from there i will take pics and post mesurments

then put it on the pass side with a fender and see how much of the fender would half to go away

lil_black_dak
09-27-2008, 08:27 PM
sweet. cant wait to see. take a pic of the look on ur face too when you see how bad its gonna rub on the cab... hehe

camo89
09-27-2008, 08:34 PM
the part u seem to have missed is that i am in my druango 500 bux

i honestly could cut 10" out of the cab and not care how ever i aint doing that much work

i know a narrower tire would work better

i also have 37" mtrs

and just got a set of 33 12 boggers if i deside to go smaller

but some one has to try

i know i can get 33s the way it sits with no rubbing excep on the inner frame area

lil_black_dak
09-27-2008, 08:38 PM
hell i would just run the 33" boggers then. if you get stuck with those on then you prolly didn need to go thru what u went thru anyways. and the ifs might last a bit longer. an im not trying to give ya shit man just trying to help ya put it in perspective as to how hard it will be to get 37's to fit without a lift. hell if i had a 500 dollar vehicle i would do the same thing. now get some pics of that shit.

camo89
09-27-2008, 08:55 PM
im at work trucks at home ill get pics tonight

every one told me id never get 42s on a 2wd s10 but i did

or that i couldent sas my toy in 3 hours (i did redo every thing the next week )

Duranged408
09-28-2008, 01:24 AM
hell i trimmed two inches ( For full travel at high speed-xcross) and come hairs away from the body. I know my d looks like alot of space but you dont see the trimming because my factory flare came loose. I guess anything can be done but good luck bro, im always for a 1rst adjustment.

camo89
09-28-2008, 04:48 AM
well i have one mounted on the rig

i beat and trimed and with no fender thay fit ish

i wont say im 100%

but it looks real good

i wouldent jump it

and my do a 3" body lift not shure

lil_black_dak
09-28-2008, 05:05 AM
wheres the pic ??? am im sure you beat the shit out of it. does it rub any when you turn?????

camo89
09-28-2008, 05:14 AM
i am working on up loding the pics right now

i just cut off the lower fender mount

and beat back the pinch weld havent even come close to how i had to trim my yota wich required cutting the floor of the cab out

lil_black_dak
09-28-2008, 05:19 AM
yeah i would have thought you might have to cut into the floor or atleast the lower front part of the door. cant wait to see some pics of this shit tho man... upload faster.

nice but um what about turning the tire is gonna hit the frame well real quick once u turn the wheel. props on getting it to fit on there though. now i wanna see it in action. just cuz it fits sitting there dont mean it will work moving.. but none the less good job. keep us updated.

camo89

i have rubbing in the rear wheel wells and nothing in the front on the frame but as i have said befor irocks are round thay are not a squaired off flat tire

When you do PICS! That should look awesome. Doesn't look like you need to much lift, any ideas on how much lift you might do when you SAS?

camo89

i tend to like my stuff low with big rubber

so probly 6" max

ill push the front axel forward and rebuild that dumb crossmember behind the radiator

lil_black_dak
09-30-2008, 12:04 AM
sounds like a plan. looks like it will be very capable when done. curious. do u have the torsion bars maxxed out right now ???
and what you gonna do with the rear? spring over? or swap it completely?

sltdak
09-30-2008, 12:25 AM
How difficult is it to remove and put those fenders back?

camo89
09-30-2008, 02:36 AM
the torsion bars are not maxed not even close

i will do a spring over on the rear when i swap in a 9" or a 60 i have bolth

the fenders wernt that bad to pull off i got the fenders off and on in probly 30 mins worth of work

JethroStyles
09-30-2008, 05:46 AM
That looks amazing! (well, other than lookin like shit)

I wonder how much cutting I'd need to do to throw some 35's under my stock height Ram.

It'd look TOUGH!

lil_black_dak
09-30-2008, 05:52 AM
as long as you dont plan on driving it around town or care about tearing up panels ... i say fuck it and throw em on an go.. fuck cutting... ahhaaha
well maybe not. urs prolly dont look like that d does...

Not a bad truck for $500, but you will have to lift and hack to get a tire that size on it. My buddy has 31's on his stock 01 D and they do not rub, but much bigger and they would. If it's just a off road huntng truck then do what you have to to make it work.

I'm a little late to this as well but there is a few more tricks you could try-

Flip the Upper Ball joint to below the Upper Control Arm (Its bolted on top of the upper control arm now, just bolt it on the bottom side to get a little more space for cranking the Tbars)
Remove the upper bump stops and crank the Tbars as high as possible.

You have a welder?

Do a 4" Body lift- 3" pucks with 1" pucks stacked on top, the weld a 4" extension into your steering shaft and re mount your bumpers.

Doing this should get you 6.5"-7" of lift (2.5-3" Tbar Crank, 4" Body Lift)

UMM 4" body lift is not legal in my state

at this point mor lift will not hlep my rubbing and after looking at a dak on 33s in the shop today i dont rub much worse than that

i am picking up a set of 35" ats this weekend and a set of rims fo road work i rocks dont like pavement

...Do a 4" Body lift- 3" pucks with 1" pucks stacked on top, ...

That's a good way to get the body to break off the frame while you're driving it. That's why it's illegal. :funny:

It's kinda like stacking blocks on a front axle to lift a leaf spring vehicle. Not the smartest thing to do.

camo89

i have a fair amount of rigs all are street legal and driven

no point in not making them street legal

so i pulled the 37s today for no reason outher than i half to dive 2500 miles to pick up my wifes horse from the family ranch in southern calie that thay just sold. I dont want to where them out at 260 a pop

i do have 33s with no rubbing and non cut fendes
