I've used the Yahoo Autos "My Auto Center" since day-1 (Jun 1 2002) it's great for looking back at all the things I've done (or should have done) to my Dak over the years...
Are there other programs that you folks have used that are better, or worse...
Also, what about programs that can be used off line... If Yahoo were to crash, all that data could be lost (I do a copy/paste to a word file every few months as a back-up)
Thanks for any inputs
Gary

I keep a 3 column table on Microsoft Word of all maintenance and sometimes mods that I do. First column is the date it was done, second is the mileage on the truck when it was done, and third was the service performed along with the brand of parts used. I was adding prices on there too but I decided to stop that because it was depressing me. :jester:

I don't put the price in there either, far too depressing lol...
This is basically how the Yahoo program works, it is boxed in though...

I record everything in the back of the owners manual. I normally follow schedule B, since new, I've recorded all repairs and some mods. Normally with the date, mileage, and what was done. It's helping to convince the dealer to now do $500.00 in tranny work for $100.00 because they screwed it up, but it's past the warranty period for the dealer.

I have a folder in the file cabinet with the reciepts of all maintanence and parts I've bought for truck. I guess I"m still old school. Paper files. :jester:

I do that as well. I keep all my receipts in a 3 ring binder.

That's exactly what I do except I have a 4th column for added details. And I print my pages blank and then fill them in by hand

I have a spiral bound notebook that I keep a log of all maintenance done to the truck, mods, and problems. I also have a folder I keep receipts in.

I keep it all in my head. Only thing I actually have kept documentation on is my engine build, but only because the guy who built it put all the receipts and stuff together for me.

along with writing things in the owners manual, I have two file folders of receipts and instructions. One is for repairs/service the other is for mods. Both are about 2 inch thick.

The one thing I must admit about liking the online accessibility of Yahoo's tracker is that I can call the house and find out how much the boys have driven "my Dak" (bless their hearts) while I'm away on business (about half the year right now).... then i can naïvely ask them to take care of the maintenance that's coming due :funny:
some day they'll leave the house... won't they :bye:

I have Microsoft Access 2007 and downloaded a template for vehicle maintenance. Its pretty nice if you know anything about access (which i have minimal knowledge of). You can keep track of past and future repairs, view reports of vehicles, view reports of maintenance that has been done, and print all these reports in case u want a hard copy. Pretty interesting if you like the database approach.

I don't really, I should have. But its been five years that I've had it and doesn't really make sense to now. When I re-built the transmission I wrote on the inner bell housing the truck's mileage.
