Is there a 6 speed option on the Hemi or is it coming with the Challenger?

Yes, there is. It came in the 2500 and 3500 Rams as an option.

The Challanger R/T 5.7L will be offered with a Tremec 6060 6Speed. This is being pulled from the 600hp Viper of course. This would be the best unit to find and mate to the Hemi, as it will allow for more power than most of us will be shooting for anyway.

the quicktime bellhousing SBM will fit the 3.9, 4.7, 5.2, 5.7, 5.9 and the 6.1
but if you get one just for the 6.1...beware as it moves the starter to the passenger side

the 6060 is strong, but will also be a tad bit expensive and hard to find. but i have seen the stock t56's handle a 9 second viper with slicks...not only are they slowly getting easier to find...they will handle the power

it sounded like someone wanted to adapt a hemi to a 6spd. Thats why i said quicktime makes the right one for it. Instead of having the starter on the drivers side like on a small block

i only added that because the 5.7 has it on the driver side, but they moved it to the other side or the 6.1 (for the car based 6.1's, not sure on jeeps) to clear the headers...as what quicktime told me

Will it work with a SB Mopar flywheel or did it require a special one?
I know the imput shaft from the chevy will need to be swapped out for a Dodge one. at least I was told the number of splines is different.

Someone might make a clutch to bolt in to this application. This would keep from having to tear down the transmission to replace the input shaft. Another words, Pressure plate and Pilot bearing to fit the dodge flywheel, and the Clutch disk with the spline count to match the input shaft, but the pilot bearings inside diameter has to match the input shaft, and the outside diameter has to match the flywheel.

you are right......just got those right and you will be fine...but to use the quicktime BH, and just about any company can get you a custom clutch
mine is actually for a pontiac...but you need a 10.5" clutch to use for a 130 tooth flywheel
you have to use a 130 tooth flywheel. for the 3.9...i am not sure how....but do a search on it, but you have a crank position sensor that reads off of the flywheel. i came across a fix on it, but did not keep it since i have a 4.7

Does the Hemi use a fly wheel located crank position sensor? I thought it had one on the back side of the crank pulley.

No, it's located near the #6 connecting rod.

This is correct. The crank sensor does not trigger from the flywheel.
BTW, we just got the new Hemi in at the shop for a Customers truck, so I will have be getting the blown Hemi we pull out, to play with. I am still debating on what I want to do with it though.
Now back to topic at hand.

you will have to use a 130 tooth flywheel and a 10.5" clutch and pressure plate...just check out mopars performance pages...they have it

From what I understand, you can use any 130 tooth flywheel on the new hemi's. Also they have the same blot pattern for the belhousings as the la and magnum small blocks. I hope this info helps you with your plans.
