I'm just curious what I would need in order to have the HID lites. I can easily find the light kits. What kind of headlight housing do I need to use? Do I have to purchase bulbs seperately?

the kits include bulbs and ballasts, everything you need. Using the stock headlight housing you will get some scattering of the light, but they will work fine. To get a nice cutoff like you would see in a car outfitted with HIDs stock you need projector lenses. These projectors can be retro fitted or purchased as a whole unit. Don't get the HID kit until you have a headlight that you know you will be using because you will need to by new bulbs if you change your housing...

Hmmmmm. So if I want HID's, then I need a housing that can handle them? I think I've got it. What would be the recommendation on that? I'm really open to all suggestions. I'm very interested in this.

i have an HID from these guys and i love it. plug n play very easy install. i had them installed in my stock housing and the light was pretty scattered (still very usable) but not as nice as a set of projectors would be. now i switched to euro clear 2 piece headlight (still the same bulb) and the light is still scattered but i dont drive at night to much so idc. there are two dif style of projectors that are made for our trucks. there the orignal projectors the "bug-eye" style where the projector lense sticks out of the lense. and now theres a flush projector with halos an led eyebrow and some random leds on the side, the biggest downfall IMO is the turn signals are on the TOP of these lights with the projectors underneath. u can use HIDs in any headlight housing u want they just work better and are meant to be used with a projector style light.

i would highly recommend these guys as they offer a 2 yr warrenty on the bulbs and ballasts and the customer service is great. and the quality parts are 10x better then any of the random jap kits ur gonna find on ebay. if u use your stock housing and need to hav hi/low beam for inspection then your gonna wanna get a bi-xenon kit, i can vouch for the fact that this will be good enough to pass inspection as my truck just passed last week with the bi-xenon kit installed.

What guys? I see no link! I do drive alot at night. I want to get this done as soon as money allows. I want to get it all and put it on. I want to make sure that it is legal also. I will need turn signals and running lights. That is my biggest concern. Will the projectors have this? Also, I really have no clue where to look online for any of this. Is there one or many places to buy this stuff.

those are the only 2 options for projector headlights unless u make something yourself. those headlights hav a ton of extra wiring (for the halos and led bars and all the extras) but they have everything thing you need for a legal headlight

those are both available with a chrome housing instead of black. ebay is your best bet for the lowest prices

Ok. I'll check them out and make a decision. Then I would have to buy the HID kit on top of it? Or do they come with it?

youd have to get an HID kits from these guys on top of the lights. they dont come with them. you have to figure out what bulb they use and then order a kit for that specific bulb. id recommend the digital or premium kit from these guys. im running a digital bi-xenon 8000K with 9007 bulbs

I have looked at you stuff. Very interesting. I'm very dumb when it comes to this stuff. I'm an old glass bulb person. When it went out you went down and bought a headlight and put it in. That was all there was to it. I didn't know things had advanced so far. My wifes car has projector head lights. So I may put the HID stuff on hers also.

Ok. Let me get all of this straight. I need to buy some projector head lights. Then I have to find the HID kit that will work with the bulb that goes with those said projector headlights. Then I will need bulbs. I can't just use what ever I want to use as far as bulbs go?

You can buy projector headlights or you can use your stock headlights, whatever you wish. A complete HID kit consists of bulbs and ballasts, you would purchase one based upon the type of replacement bulb that your headlight uses. For example if your headlights require a 9007 bulb, you order a 9007 kit (we also offer different types of ballasts but they all perform the same basic function). You wouldn't use the normal halogen bulbs, if that was your question.
Installation is relatively simple, you install the new HID bulb as you would a normal replacement bulb except the bulb is not attached to wiring connected to a ballast, the ballast in turn has wiring that you connect to the stock harness. You would then need to find somewhere to mount or hid the ballast.

Ok. If I use the stock headlights then I'll have a lot of light dispersement I understand? So it is either projectors or something that won't disperse the light so bad.

well anything other the projectors will make for crappy light dispersement. i have the HIDs installed in non-projector headlights and as long as they are aimed right the light out-put is still very usable and imo better then the stock light emission.
check ebay and u will ever kind of headlight that is available for our trucks... there 2 different versions of the one-piece (non-projector) headlights and 2 different versions of the one-piece (projector) headlights, and 1 2-piece (non-projector) version (these are what i have)
